 One Christmas Eve a farmer and his young son set out in search of a Christmas tree. The snow on the ground was deep, making it difficult for the lad to move about. Upon noticing the youth's predicament, the father instructed the boy to follow in his footsteps, where the way had already been made smooth.
In like manner our Heavenly Father beckons us to follow Him. His Word shows us the way; and as the farmer, He smooths the path by treading down the obstacles which satan places before us.
He hath promised, “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight... and the rough ways shall be made smooth" (Isaiah 45:2; Luke 3:5).
