An elderly gentleman asked a do-it-yourselfer friend to replace a leaky faucet. Later, after the friend was gone, the old fellow turned on the hot water and got cold water. Upon examining his friend's work, he discovered that the hot and cold water lines had been crossed. Not wanting to offend his "helpful" friend, he decided that it would be best to live with the imperfect situation and just be thankful to the Lord that there was no more leak.
We live in an imperfect world full of imperfect people and situations. If we are to have peace of mind through it all, we must be like the old gentleman and keep our thoughts focused upon the Lord and His blessings -- not on life's imperfections. Isaiah 26:3 says "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee."
The Lord will perfect that which concerns us by giving us perfect peace about imperfect situations.
