One day, as Captain James Cook (1728-1779) and his men were exploring the polar regions, they got caught in a bad snowstorm. Their only hope for survival was to reach their encampment as soon as possible. Yielding to their desire to stop along the way, when the going got rough, would lower their body temperature. This, in turn, would cause them to freeze to death. The only solution to their dilemma was to keep going forward.
When trying times come your way, as they did to Captain Cook and his men, keep trying. Don't yield to feelings of discouragement and give up. As a child of God, "you can do all things through Christ" (Phil. 4:13). Therefore, press on in Jesus' name and keep going forward.
