 In 1770 the British navigator, Captain James Cook ran his ship, the Endeavour, aground on the Great Barrier Reef, off the northeast coast of Australia. Reflecting his deep despair at the time, Cook named the area where his misfortune took place Cape Tribulation. After sailing his badly damaged ship northward he found a safe haven, now known as Cooktown, where he was able to restore his vessel and continue his journey.
Perhaps you, like Captain Cook, have run aground in your earthly voyage and are in need of a safe haven where your weary soul can be restored. Jesus is that haven. He is "the Good Shepherd" (John 10:11) who will "restore your soul" (Ps. 23:3). Therefore, "cast all your care upon Him" (1 Peter 5:7) for "He satisfieth the longing soul... with goodness" (Ps. 107:9).
