 The sun is an 865,000 mile wide ball of glowing hot gases which resides approximately 93 million miles from earth, at the center of our solar system. The sun is the earth's "powerhouse"; for all of earth's energy comes from the sun. Thus if it were not for the sun, the earth would be lifeless.
Likewise we would be spiritually lifeless were it not for another son, "Jesus Christ, the SON of God" (Mark 1:1). For "God hath given to us...life...in his Son" (1 John 5:11).
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not... shall not see life" (John 3:36). Therefore, "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..." (Acts 16:31) and receive "the gift of God (which) is eternal life through Jesus Christ" (Romans 6:23).
