 Greta Garbo (1905-1990) was one of Hollywood's greatest movie stars in the 1920's and 1930's. In 1941, she decided to make a departure from making movies. She had planned to make a comeback, after World War 2 was over, but for various reasons it never materialized.
Like Garbo's departure from serving in Hollywood's movie industry; should we make a departure from serving the Lord, there is a possibility that we will never return. A planned comeback may never materialize.
A close friend of Garbo's, Wilheim Srensen, once said, "She has paid a very high price for the life she leads."
The price of living apart from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is "death" (Romans 6:23) and "the damnation of hell" (Matt. 23:33). Therefore, let us beware lest we, like Greta Garbo, pay too high a price for our lifestyle.
