Jesus said, "I will never leave
thee, nor forsake thee. 

     Each year at Christmas time, many folks put up a Christmas tree. They go to great lengths to find just the right tree. When they find it, they take it home and lovingly care for it. They set it in a place of honor and decorate it with pretty things. Then, after Christmas when the new year begins, they grow tired of the tree that was once so special to them. It is a new year and time for new things. Thus they cast it aside like a piece of rubbish.
     Sometimes life is like a Christmas tree. When someone who once loved and cared for you has grown tired of your company, wanting to pursue other adventures, you become to them as an old Christmas tree cluttering up their life. Thus they cast you aside.
     Human love may be fickle and temporal at times, but Jesus' love will never fail. He has declared "I have loved thee with an everlasting love..." (Jer 31:3).
     Therefore, regardless of how poorly others treat you, "be... of a good courage... for the Lord... doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deu 31:6).
