Gladys Aylward (1904-1970) was a young English woman of 26 when God called her to go to China as a missionary. After being rejected by the London Mission Center, because she lacked the required "qualifications," Gladys decided to go on her own. Working as a parlor maid, she saved the fare and purchased a ticket on the Trans Siberian Railway. Traveling through Europe and Russia she arrived in China with only one skill in life -- she knew how to serve others. Putting that skill to work for the Lord, Gladys assisted Chinese orphans during World War II. After the war, this "unqualified" lady went on to start Christian orphanages in both Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Perhaps you, like Gladys, feel called to serve Christ in some way and others make you feel "unqualified." Forget what others think or say. Be obedient to God and "go in the strength of the Lord..." (Ps 71:16). You "can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth (you)" (Phil 4:13). God is more interested in your availability than your ability. "To them who are called, according to His purpose, He will work all things together for good" (Rm 8:28 Paraphrased).
