Norman B. Larsen (1923-1970) was a self-taught chemist who learned his trade from reading books. In 1953, while president and head chemist at the Rocket Chemical Company in San Diego, CA, he worked to concoct a formula for the aerospace industry that would displace water and prevent corrosion. After 39 failures, his persistence finally paid off on the 40th try. He named the formula WD-40 which stands for Water Displacement formula number 40. WD-40 was such a success that, in 1964, it traveled with John Glenn as he made the first manned flight around the earth. The outer skin of his space capsule, Friendship VII, was fully coated with WD-40.
At the present you may be experiencing failure after failure; but, like Larsen, you will eventually succeed if you persist and don't give up. Therefore, "be not weary in well doing: for in due season (you) shall reap, if (you) faint not" (Galatians 6:9).
