At 9:50 A.M., on Saturday, July 28, 1945, Lt. Colonel William F. Smith, Jr. accidently flew an Army B-25 bomber into the Empire State Building, while flying over New York city in heavy fog. A passer-by, Donald Maloney, witnessed the tragedy. He rushed into the burning building, rescued an unconscious woman trapped inside an elevator and carried her to safety.
Perhaps you, like that woman in the elevator, also feel trapped by circumstances and are in need of deliverance. "Let not your heart be troubled" (Jn 14:27) for "God... will... make a way to escape" (1Co 10:13). Like Maloney, Jehovah God also "delivereth and rescueth" (Dan 6:27). He "setteth... on high from affliction" (Ps 107:41). Therefore, "hope thou in God" (Ps 42:5) and "trust in Him at all times" (Ps 62:8). For "none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate" (Ps 34:22).
