 All wood is not created equal. Cedar is a cut above the rest. Unlike most woods, cedar contains natural preservatives which prevent rot from moisture and decay from insects. Cedar's profound fragrance, though pleasant to humans, drives away intrusive insects which would destroy its wood and bark. Deep within its wood fibers, oils are produced that repel moisture and prevent water damage. Together with its insect repelling fragrance and moisture resistant oils, the cedar has the ability to thrive and flourish over the harshness of nature for long periods of time.
So shall Jehovah God cause His righteous saints to thrive and flourish over the harshness of life's trials. He is our preservatve; for "the Lord preserveth all them that love Him" (Ps 145:20).
