On December 3, 1903, theatergoers were greeted with the words "absolutely fireproof" on their programs as they arrived at the newly built Iroquois Theater in Chicago, Illinois. Part way into the musical, Mr. Bluebeard, a floodlight threw off some sparks and set fire to the scenery. Sadly, the ensuing fire took the lives of 602 people who believed the lie that the theater was fireproof.
"Be not deceived" (Gal 6:7), like those unfortunate theatergoers were, concerning the fireproofness of your eternal dwelling. We have two choices -- fireproof or non-fireproof -- heaven or hell. "If God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell" (2Pe 2:4) "how shall we escape (hell), if we neglect (God's gift of) salvation" (Heb 2:3). Therefore, "yield yourselves unto the Lord" (2Ch 30:8) and choose fireproof. For "ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance" (Heb 10:34).
