Long Forgotten

 Beware lest ye... fall...
(2 Peter 3:17)

Hindenburg     Of all the great passenger airships that traveled the globe between 1918 and 1937, the German built Hindenburg was the largest dirigible ever built. Its 803 feet long structure could carry up to 70 passengers. In 1936 the Hindenburg had a very successful first season making 34 Atlantic crossings carrying over 3,500 passengers plus more than 66,000 lbs. of mail and freight. Its 1937 season started well also with six successful fights, including a round-trip to Brazil. But its fate changed on May 6, 1937 when the Hindenburg crash-landed in Lakehurst, NJ, killing 35 people aboard.
Today all of the Hindenburg's successful accomplishments have long been forgotten. Only its tragic end is remembered. And so it is "when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity... he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered"
(Ezekiel 3:20). "Therefore... beware lest ye... being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness" (2Pe 3:17) and "die in your sins" (Jn 8:24).
