The Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber was considered old and obsolete when World War 2 broke out. It was underpowered and slow. On the other hand, it handled well and was accurate. From 1941 to 1943, the Dauntless saw its best days as part of the U.S. Navy's air fleet. It was one of the few bombers in history that had more air combat victories than losses.
As you grow older you also may feel a bit slow and obsolete. But, like the Dauntless, your best years may be just ahead. If God could use 80 year old Moses (Ex 7:7) to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt on a 40 year journey to the "land of promise" (Heb 11:9), just think of the amazing possibilities that lie ahead for you. For "(you) can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth (you)" (Phil 4:13).
