I will seek that which was lost and...will give you rest. 

     The world renowned French chemist and biologist, Louis Pasteur (1822-1895), is best remembered for his discovery of the food preservation process known as pasteurization. During the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871), Pasteur's 20 year old son enlisted in the French army and was later declared missing in action. Louis laid aside his work and set out to seek his son. After much searching, he found him among the weary stragglers fleeing the Prussian army. Taking his son home, he provided him a place to rest where he could regain his health and strength.
     Pasteur's fatherly love motivated him to seek his lost son. Likewise our heavenly father, Jehovah God, "so loved the world (you) that he gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ)" (Jn 3:16) "to seek and to save that which was lost" (Lk 19:10). If you, as Pasteur's lost son, are separated from your heavenly Father and are wearily straggling through life; accept His invitation to "come" (Mt 11:28a). He has promised, "I will give you rest" (Mt 11:28b).
