On July 9, 1755, British General Edward Braddock (1695-1755) along with George Washington (1732-1799) engaged the French at the Battle of the Monongahela near present day Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Braddock was killed and the British were forced to retreat. In a letter to his brother John on July 18th, Washington wrote, “By the all powerful dispensations of Providence, I have been protected beyond all human probability or expectation; for I had four bullets through my coat, and two horses shot under me, yet escaped unhurt, although death was leveling my companions on every side of me.”
The same Jehovah God who protected George Washington has promised to also protect you. "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee" (Ps 91:10,7). "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him" (2Chron 16:9).
