A Great Sacrafice

 Jesus came...
to give His life… for many.
(Mark 10:45)

Train Engineer     John Luther "Casey" Jones (1864-1900) was an American railroad locomotive engineer who grew up near Cayce, Kentucky. It was from this town's name that he acquired his nickname "Casey". On the evening of April 29, 1900 his train was behind schedule as he began his run. Determined to make up for lost time, Jones highballed it down the track at a high rate of speed. As he approached the station at Vaughan, Mississippi his fireman, Sam Webb, warned him of a train blocking the tracks ahead. Casey ordered Webb to jump to safety as he grabbed and clung to the brake to minimize the impact and save lives. Jones was the only one killed in the crash. He sacrificed his life to save others.
Just as Casey Jones gave his life that others might live, "Jesus Christ… gave Himself for us"
(Titus 2:13,14) that "we might live through Him" (1Jn 4:9) also. Therefore "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" (Act 16:31) and be "be born again" (Jn 3:3). "For... whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (Jn 3:16).
