George Eastman (1854-1932) was an American inventor and co-founder of the Eastman Kodak Company in 1892. Under his leadership, the company became one of the world's largest film and camera manufacturers. His invention of roll film and the Kodak camera simplified picture taking and made photography available to the average person. As the company grew, he hired skilled personnel who developed new technologies beyond his comprehension. Thus as he grew older, he began to feel less useful and out of touch with the day to day operations of his company. His feelings of uselessness intensified when, in 1928, he was diagnosed with a spinal ailment that would in time confine him to a wheelchair. Feeling he could not continue on, he sadly ended his life on March 14, 1932.
Perhaps you, like George Eastman, also feel your life is useless and not worth living. If so, "let not your heart be troubled" (Jn 14:1) for "God... careth for you" (1Pe 5:6,7). He has an "eternal purpose" (Eph 3: 11) for your life. Therefore "trust in the Lord... and He shall direct your paths" (Pro 3:5,6) and cause "all things to work together for your good" (Rm 8:28).
