 The Lord... is our... shield

(Psalm 33:20)

USS Constitution     On the afternoon of August 19, 1812, during the War of 1812 between the United States and Great Britain, the American warship, USS Constitution, was fired upon by the British warship, the HMS Guerriere. Noticing that the British cannonballs had little effect upon their ship, the American sailors jubilantly exclaimed, "The cannonballs are bouncing off." This remark later earned the Constitution its famous nickname, "Old Ironsides." Realizing the advantage the Constitution's heavy oak hull gave him, Captain Isaac Hull ordered his gunners to return a full broadside aimed at the Guerriere's masts. After an hour of intense fighting, victory belonged to the Americans.
Just as the USS Constitution's hull served as an impenetrable shield against the British cannonballs, Jehovah God will also be "a shield unto them that put their trust in Him"
(Prov 30:5). Therefore "put your trust in the Lord" (Ps 4:5). He shall be your "defense and refuge in the day of... trouble (Ps 59:16). Your enemies "shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail... for I am with you… to deliver you, saith the Lord" (Jer 15:20).
